Photovoltaic

Photovoltaics or PV, is the most thought of field in solar. Improvements in this industry in the last 5 years are overwelming. The installation cost is half of what it was, and incentives are double. When you put that together with rising energy costs and the impending environmental issues, solar looks brighter than ever.

In our area North Georgia, Western Tennessee and Eastern North Carolina, we are very fortunate to have the ability to participate in the Tennessee  Valley Authority Green Power Switch Program. The Green Partner program is one of the best in the country and with other incentives, makes going solar feasible. Basically they buy all the electricity you make, right now at .23 cents per kWh. Whatever you use, you pay them about .11 cents per kWh. They also give you $1,000 for signing on with the program.

The incentives from the federal government are universal to all states, then each state determines what incentives they will offer. For a complete and comprehensive list of which incentives you would qualify for go to www.dsireusa.org. We also recommend that you see an accountant who understands how these incentives work, and most importantly how they will impact you.
